Let me learn to love.
Maybe I'm old school.
Maybe I just love
without even wanting to know more.
Maybe I believe in
love at first sight.
Maybe I do keep
giving my heart away easily.
But I do love
from the bottom of my heart
when I love.
Maybe I lose myself
when I look into her eyes,
and so, keep looking away
lest she feels uncomfortable.
Maybe I just love
and pray for miracles to happen.
I want to hold her hand,
not just shake it.
Maybe my love is indeed foolish.
But how else can love be?
Maybe I want to love her
more than I love to want her.
She doesn't like me like that.
Maybe I should move on
and just don't come back.
Whatever it may be.
Let me learn to love
the way other people do.

Sorry and Sorrier
On a "lunch period" like any other
Was I sitting on a wooden table,
When I felt a sense of going to nether
For its legs were suddenly unstable.
Instinctively did I remove my belt
And swung its metal buckle to my right
where a hairy human head it instantly felt
and broke open as the blow wasn't light.
'twas a prank gone wrong for a grade two girl.
Little would she've expected to bleed.
The blood trickled down to her chin from her skull;
there wasn't a thought in my attack and speed.
I'm sorry once again, Razia Begum
though 16 years have passed since.
I recall this, smiling, not being glum,
for children's misdeeds aren't really sins.
On a day of boredom, both inside me and out,
I saw a friend swinging on the branch of a tree.
What interested me more that day without doubt
was how his sister clung to him and swung equally free.
"I too want to swing like that!" I said.
"NO!" shouted my friend, his sister, and their uncle.
But I tried. My friend fell with a thud and bled.
Maybe I should have stayed home and read Tinkle.
I'm sorry, Barath, for giving you the scar
that still resides on your forehead.
The year 2000 now seems way too far
I'm sure the hurt has also faded.
A moment of pain, a few drops of tears

A moment of pain, a few drops of tears
due to actions unintentional yet a lot fierce
initiate maturity that will grow in phases.
Childhood scars leave an impact
that's superficial and goes not deep.
A person's morale is still in tact.
It doesn't make them incessantly weep.
I'm sorrier for some damages I did
mainly after becoming a discerning adult.
Damages not physical but through words rapid -
the kinds that distress and cause tumult.
Children's misdeeds are not really sins.
They are but rookie mistakes.
An adult's rudeness that pricks like pins
causes deeper cuts, and bonds it breaks.

One Man's Duet
Do you sense
the presence of my love
as often as
I sense
the absence of yours?
Do you think of me
as much as
I think of you?
Well, do you even think of me?
I'm sure you care for me.
Yes, you do care for me
like you care for a roadside puppy.
"Awww.. So cute!" - when you encounter it.
"Which puppy?" - when you are away.
And why on earth
am I running behind you,
wagging my tail?
Is it because
I'm capable of great love
or is it because
I want your love?
I don't mind running.
But I'm running on a one-way track
that has no destination.
I still want to hope,
I still want to love,
But I keep discovering
it's still a one man's duet.
I keep saying, "Good bye."
I keep asking myself, "What's the point?"
But then, do I really know
why I fell in love with you?

May God Ease Your Suffering
Alive you are,
Resting like a vegetable.
Unmanly coward is the one who ruined your life.
Never again to live life till death,
Arrested by destiny's horrible clutches you are.
'Sever'e punishment do all sex offenders deserve;
Hot embers sodomy is what will work out.
Aren't there any gods to ease your suffering?
Never ever should the world see another Aruna.
Belief, faith and hopes have been crushed;
All the prayers have gone in vain.
Unparalleled compassion have many people showered;
God must expedite the relief from your pain.

The Ordeal

Cursing under his breath,
Sameer got up from the floor.
Thinking, "Better could be death".
An agonized look he bore.
His eyes failed him,
He stretched his hands outward.
He started to sing a hymn.
He was a god-fearing coward.
This ordeal was too much to bear.
His zest was subdued.
He thought this was just unfair.
He uttered words that were rude.
He felt highly helpless,
There was nothing he could do.
Like a bullet, swift and aimless,
He walked ahead too.
His sweating was profuse,
He felt like ripping his clothes off.
This suffering he just couldn't refuse.
His situation didn't make him laugh.
With an outstretched hand
He gripped the fridge's handle.
In the dairy items stand
He found a big candle.
His mom shouted, "Fast!"
He hurried back to the hall.
For long did the power cut last
And he couldn't watch football.

Woebegone Woman
She took to her heels and ran into the streets
When her beloved mate was nowhere to be found.
He had ditched her there.
It was truly a nightmare
When the one she loved had betrayed her.
He had said love to her,
He had made love to her.
They were happy for a brief span of time.
She didn't expect this,
She couldn't accept this.
She went in search of a place to hide.
Into a mighty huge palace that dwarfed her frame
She took refuge for the time being.
Like a thief-on-mission on a pitch dark night
She sneaked into the palace without anyone's knowledge.
Her woes multiplied when she had pangs in her womb.
She went nearly mad when she gave birth to quadruplets.
Deprived of food, she was much malnourished,
She didn't have a clue about how to raise her kids.
The granary of the palace was overflowing with food,
She proved her mettle by stealing some for her kids.
The babies made noise when they were strong enough,
The prince of the palace heard it and was greatly shocked.
He found four infants near a heap of food.
Infants so young that they hadn't opened their eyes;
Infants so cute that no one would want to hurt them.
The mom wasn't there, she was hiding due to fright.
The babies were taken and thrown away that night.
A trap was laid to catch the mom,
A trap with tomato and a chunk of cheese.
The mom was caught and let into the streets.
She once again took to her four heels
Followed by her long, pink tail.

Inexpressive

My happiness I expressed
When the smile of my lips and
The tranquility of my heart bonded.
My insane glee I expressed
When the grin of my lips and
The excitement of my heart bonded.
Why can't I express my sorrow?
The pout of my lips fails to bond
With the grief of my heart.
My tears evade me,
I find it hard to cry.
Will I feel better if I do?
The pegasus flies away,
But its heart stays behind.
